Although the days of the NICU is just days behind us, it seems far away. Ella is a very peaceful baby. She sleeps a lot but is becoming more alert. She has a couple periods in the day that she is very alert and looking around. She will be 11 weeks old tomorrow, but really is a newborn. She is actually due in 2 weeks. She wakes during the night and keeps me more on my toes. I think we are used to the oxygen and the apnea monitor. I look forward to the day it is gone, but I think it has offered some comfort to not worry about her oxygenation. I can leave the room briefly and not worry if she is breathing.
Life is what you make of it. Everyday and everyone is a blessing. Ella James is a true blessing not only in who she is but what she has taught us all over the past 10 weeks.
